The
interdisciplinary team brings together a complete set of
expertise necessary to address the scientific challenges
described in this proposal. It extends the existing NCSU
strengths in ferroelectric materials and surfaces, while
building a collaboration with the emerging strength in
molecular materials in Chemistry and Physics. The project
involves five Co-PI's and two additional collaborators with
specific tasks in the program. The PI is Robert Nemanich of Physics,
and the Co-PI's are Laura Clarke (Physics), Chris Gorman
(Chemistry), Alexei Gruverman (Materials Science and Engineering) and Thomas Pearl (Physics). In addition, Angus Kingon will provide
materials support and lead our technology development education
initiatives, and Maria Oliver-Hoyo will lead our education and
outreach activities. A significant collaboration has been
established with Stephen Streiffer from Argonne National Laboratory.
We are also fortunate that Prof. Lukas Eng of Dresden University of
Technology will join the team on sabbatical during 2004/2005. |
